The arrival of the Candy Snatchers, from Virginia
Beach, into the
american
punk rock scene, has been a big earthquake. In a short time with a handful
of singles, one LP and a CD compilation of these singles, they have toured
the whole U.S.A. a few times, have been Maximun R'n'R cover sleeve (as
well on a few more prestigious magazines) leaving a trail of blood, drunkness
and high
octane
punk rock. Their sound plays tribute to The Devil Dogs or The Didjits,
but also to a lot of classics: Saints, Stooges or even The Rolling Stones.
Safety Pin Records reference, is for The Candy Snatchers, the first european
release. There is an original son "30 Grams to Life", a good
sample of their wild sound, and a furious cover version of "Fresh
Rag", an unrelease Stooges tune, covered before by Iggy Pop's
homeboy Matt Gimmick, back in 1977.got no doubt that this 7" will
be definitive Candy Snatchers introdution in Europe and the confirmation
of their wild attitude in U.S.A.
