External appearance

The first airsoft sniper rifle I ever bought was the PSG1 and the last (at the moment) a  SVD. I can't avoid to show in this way.

It contrast the "squared" and germanic appearance  of PSG1 against the more curvilinear and "organic" of Dragunov. Even the fake wood of Marui's pistol grip looks poor compared with well done wood aspect of SVD's handguard and stock.

Looking by the left side we can see the PSO1 scope rail. As the "originals" from Atoz were out of stock I mounted the G&P version that lent by Miguel, a team mate from Warlords Airsoft Almeria. That scope, also out of sotck in the G&P's web, it is a copy of military version with the metal case including spares, accesories and the serial number printed.

The flash suppressor is attached to the external barrel with an allen head screw under the bayonet socket. Unfortunately there is no airsoft copy of this model of bayonet.

In the gas block there is a couple of screws similar to the one that locks in place the flahs suppressor. To strip the handguards you must loose the screws and turn the lock (Retenida) forward as the set can be displaced a little allowing to separate the handguards.

You must check these screws tight looking for undesirable loosening. That piece of advice must be applicable for all the airsoft weapons to avoid damage or lost parts.

The body is metallic as all the  pieces. May the paint is a little shining and I hope that the regular use can "weather" his aspect in a more "sovietsky" way.

In this picture from the stock we can appreciate the well done fake wood effect. The cheek piece is a must accesory in order to ease the scope use. The manufacturer offers the cheek piece as an extra but in my local airsfot shop complementosmilitares.com it is included in the price.

There is another version with black stock and handguards. The black version is inaccurate compared with the original polymer set that Izmash produces for today's SVD version. To compare i have a spare black set.

Finally the 25 bb magazines are plastic and looks  identical to the real steel as you can see in pictures. They fit very well without effort. The left magazine is RS and the rigth the airsoft one..

The aspect is very nice and the handling smooth and consistent.
