Recently, september 1999,

Spanish Military Psichologists have been integrated in the Military Health Corps. Here, a new branch has been formed:

Psychology.

The others branches are:

• Medicine
• Pharmacy
• Odontology and
• Veterinary.

 

The formation of this new Psychology Branch was authorised by LAW OF REGIME FOR PERSONNEL IN THE ARMED FORCES, signed by Juan Carlos I, King of Spain, being published on 19 May 1999.

This will affect the organization of Spanish Military Psychology. It is expected that the change will occur at the top level. The head of this new structure will be the General Inspection of Sanity.

However this will not affect our functions in the Armed Forces. Organizational Psychology, Educational Psychology and Clinical Psychology are, and will be, the main areas in our work. It is expected that these three specialities will be formed in the near future.
