1. Coto Donana in Huelva province
A prime site mostly consisting of mud-flooded terrain, big reed beds and pools. Wooded area with eucalyptus and pines as well as cork oaks, which are important for nesting birds. A beach flanks the southern part of the park.
2. Tarifa area-everything can turn up here.
Though mostly a mountain area covered with cork oaks, it also has a beach, which is important for arriving migratory birds, and cliffs at the western part (Barbate).
Area in the vicinity of Ronda - especially attractive in spring. With Booted Eagles, Golden Eagles, Peregrines, etc.
3. Serrania de Ronda especially the mountains of Grazalema.
A range known for its breeding Eagles. Mountain birds can be found here.
4. Mountains behind Malaga and mouth of Quadalhorce river.
Covered mostly by pines. The Chameleon can be found in this resort, while the Guadalhorce river is also home to many aquatic birds, as well as permanent ponds.
5. Gabo de gata at Almeria.
A semi-desert area covered in agave. The mountain areas inland are very dry, with some stripped of vegetation.
6. Fuente de Piedra
A large salt lake with breeding Flamingos during rainy years. The surroundings are cultivated with olive trees.
